Call, but you are probably spliting. I don't think he has an 8 here ever.

I really hate this spot... but I can't see him having 8x here often. I guess he could have 89 or T8.... but nothing else makes sense.

Of course, I also hate to call a PSB for a split pot.

89 is in the mix of villian's range for sure. He only needs an 8 ~1/3 of the time for this call to be -EV. He's playing this exactly like 89. I'd probably call at the table, but looking at it here, I think it's a borderline fold.

I thought villan may hold a badly whiffed heart draw or a poorly played pair, such as 99. 98 could be a possibility.

Why don't you think he has an 8? I could certainly see 89 calling the flop bet, as well as some flush draw containing the 8h. At $25NL I don't think the average player ever considers that someone could have flopped a boat and they are drawing dead, or could be very easily outdrawn on a paired flop.

Results in white: Villan held K8o and MHING. I don't know what was up with the flop call, but, more power to him I suppose.

What! You don't call that flop with 1 overcard + a backdoor straight draw?!

Hehe..I wish I would have stayed around longer to stack him. He unfourtanately lost his stack 2 rounds later when his TPNK ran into a set.
