Every fast food joint I've been to where I've had to pull up has had a spot that was out of the way of regular drive-thru traffic.

It's not even relevant because that isn't the reason they have you pull up anyway. Sure, it sounds like a good idea, but in actuality they just want good window times so they don't get in trouble / get their food discount decreased/etc.

I was volunteering in South Central, teaching tennis to kids...

One morning, I have my list of kids in my hand, doing roll call - and I'm always entertained by the variety of names in this neighborhood...but one makes me stop short.

I ask the child's mother how she pronounces her daughter's name. She looks at me like I'm absolutely crazy and says, "YOUR-EEN." Like, how else would I pronounce it?

Only this poor girl's name was spelled, "U-r-i-n-e."

The names that make me roll my eyes are the ones that look like obvious misspellings or mispronunciations: Anfrony, etc.
