Default What\'s the point of hand for hand play - read my rant

Okay - it's not the money I'm pissed about, cause I made the play knowing we were on the bubble.

But on pokerroom (and skins) - what's the point of hand for hand play - if they don't use it to break the tie between the money?

Here is the situation. 11 People left, top 10 get paid. I am the shortstack at my table with about 3200, and the second shortest stack overall. Blinds are at 400/800. It's a PL0/8 tournament- not that it matters, but I get dealt AK34 -DS.

As good a hand as I will see before the blind will hit me in 2 hands. UTG limps, I push. Folded back to UTG who calls.

He beats me, and I'm out in 11th.

But wait, at the other table, the SS small blind with only 2500 (before posting), had gone all in. And he loses about 10 seconds after me.

Yet he gets 10th- and the money, I get 11th- an no money.

This doesn't seem right.

Please do not debate wether or not I should have gone all in here on the bubble - knowing the Short stack was in the SB at the other table. While it is debateable, its not the point of this post.

FYI - had anyone had this happen to them?

I actually play on Holly Wood Poker these days, and I have called their support, and they told me once the tournament is over, they can review my claim.

ALOT of things on PokerRoom are kinda screwy.

Not sure about other sites doing this or not.

That is definitely a bug or a bad design. Even Party, the original home of bugs and bad design, gets this right and waits until all hands are resolved before determining the order in which people have gone out...

Yeah - Like I said it's not that the money will make it of break it for me, but I do feel I earned it.

As of 7 AM eastern time - my case has been "forwarded to a supervisor".

We shall see what they say - I will keep everyone posted.

I'm going to forward this to my supervisor too, just for completeness.

And yes, you're right ... if the hands started at the same time and you both busted out, short stack is #11. This is exactly the reason I stopped playing the crap factory fringe sites (Pacific, btw, is THE WORST).

Default 1st writted response from Hollywood Poker

Hi,

Thank you for contacting Support.

I have spoken to my Supervisor regarding your query and unfortunately, we're still not able to provide you with more information. This is still currently being looked into as the history shows that you went out of the tournament a minute before the other player, thus putting you in the 11th position. But we are still determining whether this was the same hand and we're verifying that there has been no errors in the ranking of the players with this specific tournament. A supervisor will get back to you as soon as it is possible.

We appreciate your patience regarding this matter.

Should you have any further queries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Regards
Janice
