I wouldn't worry about it, this fear is totally natural.

[/ QUOTE ]

It's the fear that scares us.

I've always had mild existential anxiety (my first serious episode was when I was like nine, I think). a while ago, something happened that exacerbated that anxiety to a crippling level, and I spent about six months in constant fear of death (not being-hit-by-lightning fear, just a constant and crippling awareness of my own mortality). I saw several therapists, took drugs that made my condition worse, and eventually learned that there is no way to control the vast majority of things that happen to us, most particularly death. the only solution is to accept our inability to control things.

while going through this phase, I realized that human self-awareness SHOULD be a crippling characteristic. if we're aware of the fact that we'll die, we SHOULD be driven to insanity, gripped by the fear of that inevitability.

but looking at it from an evolutionary perspective, it only makes sense that the humans who are able to find ways to cope with the inevitability of death are the ones who manage to pursue a self-sustaining and healthy life course. enter religion.

but if you're an athiest like myself..

you're screwed.

the only way to enjoy our short tenure here is to accept our inevitable demise. of course it's scary. but there's nothing we can do about it but accept it.

We're not here, we're her for a nano-second, we're not here again. I just don't care anymore. And it's quite liberating. May everyone's death be quick and painless.

How many times I gotta tell you to put a condom on before sticking in the Thai boy's pooper? Now look at what a mess you've gotten yourself into...

Your mindset is all wrong. Enjoy life and don't worry about things you can't change.
I smoke, drink & eat too much unhealthy food.
If I go 100% healthy I've live longer but so what?
Enjoy life, its all about $ and women. When you die u die.

I feel sorry for people who dwell on this. You cannot avoid death so just forget about.
