To Evan, are they wine drinkers? Getting them a membership to a wine club where bottles are delivered throughout the year is a good gift.

Omg you rule. This is perfect for somebody I was still undecided on.

Last year I gave handcarved wooden items.

Christmas ornaments, a recipe box, a jewlery box, a crib board, and a serving tray. I just bought them premade and carved them then put a finish on it.

This year I was trying to make small wooden boxes using only hand tools. I had planned to put funny things in them like a yoyo or a finger trap. But the boxes have not come out very nice so it will have to wait for next year or a birthday.

So I just bought some stuff this year.

I'm still going to include the silly stuff though we are all big kids people love toys as do I.

Carving stuff sounds cool.

This year, I'm giving people oil/vinegar jars or whiskey jugs, all of which I've thrown in the pottery studio over the last month or so. Should go over well .. everybody likes hand-made stuff.

I do not intend on buying anyone anything.

Nothing personal, but, given the OP's subject and intentions, this is easily the most worthless reply I've ever seen on 2+2.

If that's what you were going for, congrats.
