UTG (t1775)

CO (t2630)

SB (t2270)

Preflop: Hero is MP with A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero calls t200, 2 folds, SB raises to t400, BB calls t200, Hero raises to t4085, SB calls t1870 (All-In), BB calls t240 (All-In).

Flop: (t6995) 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

River: (t6995) 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] (3 players, 2 all-in)

Final Pot: t6995

Results in white below:
BB has 4d Qh (two pair, jacks and fours).
Hero has Ah Kd (one pair, jacks).
SB has Td Tc (two pair, jacks and tens).
Outcome: SB wins t5180. Hero wins t1815.

I believe i played this correctly because i would have had him dominated if he had any ace besides another AK and itd be about a coinflip if he had a pair. plus i read the middle player for weak given his limp and calling off for the rest of his chips...what do you all think?
how should i have played it?

i was hoping someone would raise so i could move in...which is what happened. why would it have helped to raise? the guy with 1010 wasn't going to fold it...

Thats hindsight, its bad to think that way, your raising for value, villains could have other hands that are worth a limp but not a raise. A worse hand could take your whole stack on the flop if you dont raise preflop. Pick up "Holdem Poker for Advanced Players" it'll explain what I mean better.

I was mostly curious as to your line of reasoning. I would just ask yourself how sure are you that you are going to get raised. If I'm you, I want to be pretty sure that I'm going to get the opperturnity to reraise. Now this might be the read you had, but I wouldn't want to merely hope i'd get raised.

That being said, I usually would raise and play a more straight forward game. The reason being, this AK hand doesn't exist in a vacuum. I am also raiseing with a lot of hands that aren't AK. I'm "hoping" they call my AK with dominated hands, because I done a lot of bullying and won a lot of pots uncontested preflop.
