Flopped a set, bet into preflop raiser?
Preflop raiser is a LAG... 77 VP$IP, 27 PFR. BB is weak/loose, never folds to a raise from the blinds. No read on MP1, he's new to the table.
I really don't want to check and have it checked around with the possible flush draw, but I also don't want to scare anyone out. What is the best approach here? Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em, $ BB (9 handed) converter CO ($25) Button ($26.35) SB ($23.60) BB ($16) UTG ($15.05) ZootMurph ($46.40) MP1 ($26.10) MP2 ($21.65) MP3 ($27.70) Preflop: ZootMurph is UTG+1 with 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]. CO posts a blind of $0.25. SB posts a blind of $0.10. 1 fold, ZootMurph calls $0.25, MP1 calls $0.25, 1 fold, MP3 raises to $1, 3 folds, BB calls $0.75, ZootMurph calls $0.75, MP1 calls $0.75. Flop: ($4.35) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players) BB checks, ZootMurph??? |

Re: Flopped a set, bet into preflop raiser?
I thought about both a bet and check raise. As for betting, how much would you bet and WHY? And for the check raise, I mentioned in the post that I didn't want it to get checked around, so I don't think check with the intent to raise is the best solution. If you can give me more information on why you think this is the best case, I'm happy to hear it.

Re: Flopped a set, bet into preflop raiser?
i think your action depends on what you put the other players on and what type of players they are. C/R a loose player for sure. And if you think someone is holding AK that would be another good time for a C/R. However if the players are tighter then id probably bet half the pot and hope for some action.

If this guy is as LAG as you say he is, he will bet.
Check raise him. |

Re: Flopped a set, bet into preflop raiser?
Check/Raise is a limit line, not No Limit with these stack sizes.
You're only thought here should be "How am I most likely to get all of the money in the middle". The answer is: bet into the LAG (about $4 should be fine) and pray that he raises his K-whatever, and then you can push. If one of the others wants to come along, so much the better. |
