Total pot: (5.85 BB)

The table had been typically quite loose, otherwise I would have raised on third. On 4th, my plan was to check-call until 6th where I would check raise, but when I paired my doorcard I was worried he wouldn't bet. Any & all comments/advice appreciated.

I’d fold on 3rd in this structure.
And raise 5th. Waiting till 6th backfires too often, like it did here.

Unless the game is very loose and passive, third street is a fold, especially with such a tiny ante.

I would just bet out on fourth myself. It looks natural, and the bring-in shouldn't automatically give you credit for a hand. The problem I have with your gameplan is that sixth street is the most likely street for the other guy to check behind, so the check-raise is less likely to work.

I figure that I bet on fourth street in this kind of scenario often enough--every time, basically--that I ought to bet when I actually have a hand. If this were the last hand of poker you were going to play, or it was the latter stages of a tournament, you might do the old broken wing thing to try to squeeze a bit more out of the other guy. If you usually bet your weak hands in this spot but usually check your strong hands, then your observant opponents, if any, will know when you're strong and when you're weak, and they'll be able to play accordingly. Deception lies in playing different kinds of hands the same way.
