read doyles book, he lost to a 0 outer

card reshuffled back in due to dealer error!

[/ QUOTE ]

Cloutier has a WORST beat than that one in his book.

He calls Al Krux's all-in with pocket 10s on the button.. Dealer mucks the the folds and deck together...Floorman comes over...etc...Reshuffle, deal out flop:

K 10 x.

TJ has a set of 10s.
Krux has... a set of Kings!

Turn: x
River: TEN

TJ hits his one outer to win the pot.

What makes this so bad?

Another player at the table MUCKED pocket 10s.

You don't get out enough. That's not even close to the worst beat I've seen (or even had put on me!).

[/ QUOTE ]

Yep...not even close...this is not even as bad a beat as somthing routine like...

You hold AA

Flop is XXX

Villain holds A7

Turn and River 77

That's a perfect perfect combination and is mathematically .0444 to catch the first 7 and .023 for the second 7. This makes that a 0.001% chance....basically 999 to 1. I've had this happen multiple times, too (as is to be expected over hundruds of thousands of hands). The OP's royal draw is better than a 2% probability...a not so unordinary bad beat...it probably is dealt out many times a day in Vegas alone.

Edit: I see a post about Al Krux. Interestingly enough, he was at the table the last time this happened to me. I had AA in the BB in an NL tournament and villain raised from MP....folded to me...I smooth called....flop XXX...I check....villian moves in...I call....he flips AJ ...turn and river JJ....vomit. Turn - 45 unseen cards, 3 7's in the deck - 0.067

River - 44 unseen cards, 2 7's in the deck - 0.046

0.045*0.067 = 0.0031 or ~1/300

For Villan, KK.

The nuts is still JJ.

('the nuts' means best possible hand, if anyone else is confused)

[/ QUOTE ]

Dude. The nuts is the best POSSIBLE hand. KK is the best POSSIBLE hand, therefore KK is the nuts. Got it? It makes no sense to say a hand that's not even possible is the nuts. You're wrong. Accept it and move on.

[/ QUOTE ]

OMG, JJ= JOKER,JOKER - IT'S THE NUTS (best possible hand).

You guys are horrible.

Not sure if this is a true story, but this is a good example of someone hitting a zero-outer.
