probably isnt the right play, but it's one of those "i just feel it's best even though i can't justify it with reason" kinda things.

I got someone to call an overbet of the pot on the turn with just a flush draw.

That's +EV in a way that making villain fold is not.

perhaps im just biased because ive got a feeling that he either outsetted you or hit the backdoor flush.

The benefit of a push--Someone might have AQ and call.

The benefit of a value bet--Someone may have had an ace high flush draw and talk himself into calling with his rivered pair of A's given the large amount of money in the pot.

Hero's action?

does it even matter?

All-in on the river and hope no body caught an unlikely straight or flush. I think 2-pair AQ or Q9s (which would stink if it was Qc 9c) might call, as might KQ or JQ if they suspect you've been semi-bluffing the whole time.

One villain was probably on a draw. The other was probably on a TPTK or TPWK Qx hand who may call you down suspecting a missed flush draw (which would be a bad read on his part, obviously). Otherwise, you ran into a set of 9s that let you do all the betting (bad play by them, but they win here anyway), or a backdoor flush Qc Xc.

I think betting is best since at least one villain has a piece of this and if he didn't make an unlikely backdoor flush, and he thought his AQ or Qx was good on the flop and turn, then he'll call on the river given the pot size.

Sometimes, in a hand like this, if you think the only hand that calls on the river is one that beats you, you could check/call-all-in to pick up a bluff from a diamond draw that missed - but in this hand the pot is so big I don't think anybody with a missed draw would really think that move would work here. So just bet.

And does it matter? Probably not. I can't see you laying it down on this river no matter what, it just stinks if you got rivered. It would be funny if you lost to 3d 5d .
