What are the pros and cons of SPIDERS vs vangaurd?

As far as I can tell the biggest difference is that the expense ratio is lower on ETF's/Spiders than on Index Funds, but because you pay commissions that difference is overwhelmed by the commission cost if you make frequent purchases. For one big purchase, an ETF is slightly cheaper, for reasonably small regularly monthly purchases, Index Funds are cheaper.

The "intraday pricing" of ETF's seems irrelevant to me but I suppose some people will try daytrade anything.

Also if you plan on doing any option hedging this is easily done with spyders.
