Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] "Never masturbate while playing online." [/ QUOTE ] How about in a live game. It creates certain image that your opponents won't soon forget. [/ QUOTE ] If acting strong indicates weakness and acting weak indicates strength, I'd have to put such an opponent on a bluff, though I'd be candidly afraid to call his hand. Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
Even more afraid to collect the chips. That is definitely a tell; you know they are playing King/Jack-offsuit.

Never draw to an inside straight.
. . . . . . Unless the pot lays 10.5:1. |

[ QUOTE ]
Never draw to an inside straight. . . Unless the pot lays 10.5:1. [/ QUOTE ] Horrible advice. In limit, how can you not call 8:1, 7:1 or even 6:1 on the flop with a rainbow gutshot on an unpaired board? You have 2 more betting rounds of double bets to make up the difference with implied odds if you hit. |

"You can't call nothing with nothing"
Pretty much if you know someone is trying to buy the pot and you have rags, you dont call them. |

"You can't call nothing with nothing" Pretty much if you know someone is trying to buy the pot and you have rags, you dont call them. [/ QUOTE ] To add to the above, the money saving concept that started me to becoming a consistent winner (in home games) is that "You can bet with nothing, but don't call with nothing" |

Re: Best Poker Advice ever?
I can't remember where I heard it, but I always ask myself if I can scoop the pot.
