I used to make a simple, but varied Red/Beans and Rice Dish.

Ingredients:

1- Cajun Turkey Hillshire Farms Sausage (sub as needed)
2- Bags of Uncle Bens Brown Rice
1- Yellow Bell Pepper
1- Red Bell Pepper
1- Green Bell Pepper
1- Small Red Onion
1- Can Light Red Kidney Beans
1- Can Dark Red Kidney Beans
1 - French Baugette
6-pack Sierra Nevada Pale Ale (or 12er?)
Red Hot habenero sauce

Cooking instructions:

Boil Rice as instruced on box in sauce pan
Brown sausage in deep frying pan (use butter, oil, etc)
Cut and clean peppers and onions
Remove sausage
Brown vegies in deep fry pan
Add browned sauseage to fry pan
Add both cans of red beans ot fry pan
Season fry pan with habenero sauce
Simmer for 5 minutes

Serve rice topped with sausage, bean, and veggie mix.
Add French Baugette, Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and enjoy.

Takes less than 25 minutes to cook. Usually serves 3-4.

I never made myself a meal in college, even when I lived off campus.

The cheapest thing at my college food court was a meal consisting of one chili dog, french fries, and small drink for $3. When I wasn't dead broke, I'd splurge.

I'm pretty sure he's looking for things he can cook. He's probably aware that there are places called "restaurants" where he can buy prepared food.

Salad, meat, potatoes. Other than that? Rice, meat, vegetables.

Cooking isn't that hard, really.

learn to make ramen good.

ramen recipes

back in college, i'd cook ramen with some sliced onion, a cut up hot-dog or polish sausage, and 1-2 cloves of garlic for flavor. take it off the heat, put it in a deep bowl. put some pepper jack cheese slices on top. enjoy it with a tall glass of juice and a fork (chopsticks don't do the job).
