Default First Hand of WSOP 2005

I've never played in the WSOP, but am curious about a hypothetical situation. Tried to set a mood, maybe failed at it. Would like to know what MTTers would do here.

Let's say you qualified for WSOP 2005 Main Event tournament. You fly into Vegas, looking forward to getting a share of the $50 million prize pool. You roam around Vegas for a bit, taking in the sights. Get a good night's rest before the big day. Get to the lobby early. See a lot of the pros talking about how hopefully this is their year to win the big one.

There are so many people who registered they had to make 9 days for the final event. You luckily get called to play on Day 1A. You make your way to your table, get your chips, and sit down.

To your surprise, you've been seated at the TV table. You notice two pros at your table, Doyle Brunson and Julian Gardner. What bad luck! The other players do not look familiar.

First hand is dealt, and you're the big blind. Blinds are T$25-T$50, and your stack began with T$10,000.

You've barely have gotten accustomed to the setting before, to your surprise, UTG, a young college kid who barely looks over 21, announces I'm all in.

It's folded around to you.

You look down and see:

Lets suppose you have J7s and a guy comes with a gun and tells you to fold..do you go all-in?? neither do I but isnt this kinda improbable??

i fold everything besides AA. and i have to be sure im going HU with the guy. first hand and you're taking a risk with KK for your entire tournament? come on. Who would move in on the first hand w/o AA, KK, or *possibley* AK either way its too much of a risk to take.

Here's what I do and if I get the chance, what I will do barring actually being flashed AA.

Ok, first I start laughing histarically, poker face be damned. Then, I stand up and yell get the cameras over here this is my 15 mins. I call and probably lose to the AJo this guy thinks is so great a hand, when not only does an ace flop but he hits running jacks for a boat.

I then tell everyone who will listen about how I just busted out of the tourney on the first hand.

having Big Slick might change my play her, but if it is sooted, I'm in.

Yeah an attempt at sarcasm that didn't translate well, I spelled suited wrong figuring you would all pick up on it. Oh well.

UTG I'm not sure. Late pos, I call this with Ks fully expecting my opponent to turn up Queens or A/K. How many people realy make this play with aces? I'd be less surprised to see pocket 4s than aces based on the "average" player these days.

okay, maybe I just fold. Nobody really wants to bust out on the first hand...but I dont think too many players push aces here.

dead easy - you fold every hand even AA.....

why? coz you want to win the tourney right?? coz you want to play some hands - its a marathon not a sprint - double up later

you aint interested in being a numpty and being busted out first hand are you?

easy throw away - I wouldn't even look at my cards if I heard ALL IN
