Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) converter

Button (t830)
SB (t1075)
BB (t3000)
Hero (t3025)
MP (t2070)

Preflop: Hero is UTG with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
Hero ?

BB is not going to come back at you without a real big hand. He will be very wary to put a RR move on you because you are raising from UTG and he SHOULD respect that. I'd raise ~3bbs and call pushes from SB and button, folding to a PF push from the other two. A call from MP is very unlikely and if thats the case, proceed with caution. A call from BB will put you in position which is nice.

Whoever said raise to 550 and play some poker had it right IMO.

if BB is a good player, he'll come over the top with alot of hands.

Where do you come up with these things? You aren't the only one either. I hear this nonsense a lot. A good player would respect the UTG raise. Now if he has reason the expect you'll fold to a RR then maybe. Even then he's risking his stack to an UTG raise. I just dont see it.
