Well, two plays are questionable, the preflop limp and the river call. You're not folding the flop or turn. Since you're out of position, there's no need to make a play for a free card. You'll likely just get raised on the flop and be forced to call a bet on the turn anyway.
With A7s, the preflop limp is fine. Getting 7.66:1, I don't mind the river call either.

Preflop limp sucks, better off folding
Frop call is standard operating procedure. Turn what do you do? If your ahead you don't want this guy to fold. If your behind you don't want to put extra money into this pot. River hmmm.....I'm torn between check/calling or betting out. I think betting out is better, provided you are capable of folding to a raise. Stu

The way you played it, Villain will value bet his KK/QQ. I don't see the need to bet/fold to a raise. Nice hand.

We should lump this hand together with Yobz's "check/call, check/call, bet w/ JJ".
You guys both got the ends backwards, I think. He should have checked, you should have bet. BTW, if the villian is at all trying to read your hand I don't agree that he bets the river w/ KK or QQ, etc.

I would value bet this river 100% of the time, as would most 11/5 types. Just b/c the draw didn't come in, doesn't mean that hero is on it. Edit - I don't think betting the river is awful OOP, I would just not be able to fold to a raise as villain is likely aggressive enough to raise with some hands that we beat. Since I don't want to fold to a raise and I believe that villain will bet hands two likely hands that I beat, QQ/KK, i c/c.

Results aside, if I were the villian here and I had a bead on our Hero as a tight/thinking (or at least semi-thinking) player, I wouldn't bet my big pair on the river.
He's either got an Ace with a crappy kicker, or he's got two spades; if I bet and he calls I'm homered.
