Default Calling the 3-Bet - do I have odds?

Party $10+1 - 2500 started, down to about 200, so we're ITM, but not by much.

Villain is in a lot of hands, but I haven't been at the table for long so he is either laggy or on a rush of cards. When he shoves there is 25k in the pot and it's 10k for me to call - do I take 2.5:1 here?

Depends on what hands he's been raising with -- a player can appear laggy if he's calling a lot and hitting flops, but still be raising with solid cards -- but you're probably getting the odds to call.

As an aside, may I ask what the purpose was behind your initial raise? I would've probably just called. You're not going to fold anything out with a raise that small, plus you're committing a decent part of your stack with a semi-marginal hand, even with position.

Agreed that that was a baby-raise. t8000 or even a push would have been better, and perhaps isolated the original raiser. Damn party for not having a pot total during the betting.

Anyway, I called Villain turned up Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], but out flopped me and I couldn't catch up.

Push preflop if you are going to resteal. This is a call almost no matter what with 2.5-1 odds. He has to have TT+, AK+ here for folding to be correct. If AQ is in his range at all, you have to call here.

Not everyday you seem someone 4-bet pf with QJs and almost no fold equity.

True. Only days that end in Y.
