Re: Binions has a toll free number as well ...
Besides this summer special, I believe Sahara has the lowest rake in town (both stud and hold'em).

Does Sahara even have any games going? Everytime I go there I see one stud game and pan, never any holdem.

Re: Lowest rake in Vegas?
"Without a doubt, we'll spend a majority of our time at the Mirage and Bellagio -"
Thats funny in light of your initial post title since those 2 rooms have inarguably the highest rake in Vegas. |

Re: Lowest rake in Vegas?
Well, those 2 rooms are by far the nicest in town. The games are good, the selection is good, and there is always a seat to be had in a relatively short amount of time.
From my experience at many other rooms on the strip that's not the case. I was simply curious about which places had the lowest rake. As I mentioned, it's not the determining factor on where we play - in fact, it's not that huge of a deal. I remembered Binion's having a $2 rake and was querying the locals on which casino's had the best bang for the buck. That doesn't mean I'm taking cabs to all outskirts of vegas to save $1 on rake to play in some run down smoky as hell room with a bunch of 79 year old codgers on bottled air. |

You don't. Every single room in Las Vegas except the Bellagio and Mirage has a $3 rake. It breaks down very simply actually: Bellagio, Mirage: $4 rake, no jackpot. Binions: $3 rake, no jackpot. Everything else: $3 rake, $1 jackpot (either high hand or bad beat). Anyhoo - there you go. |

Re: Binions has a toll free number as well ...
I think they only get Pan going every Sunday morning. Usually just one table, and it doesn't last long. Stud and Hold'em are kind of the norms. I almost always see both, so we must be going at totally different times of the day/week.

Re: Lowest rake in Vegas?
Clarkmeister,
I'm just curious because I normally play online where there is no jackpot drop, does this happen automatically or only after the pot reaches a certain amount? If only after a certain amount what's the amount for something like 4/8 or 6/12. Thanks, Jason |

jackpot drop
Some places wait untill the flop, others take the jackpot drop immediately. I've never heard of a set amount triggering the j.p.d. Actually, If they don't drop, they can't pay off, and once the flop is out, someone could have won something.
I think of the bad beat and high hand payoffs as being nearly useless for a serious player, and the j.p.d. being litle better than one more dollar of rake. Exception: if they add jacpot money to tourneys. |
