Default Good Ol\' Stop-n-Go

Read on Button was that he was a Tighty. Best part about this was, right before he folded, he types:

"AQ no good, huh?"

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t150 (5 handed) converter

Hero (t880)
UTG (t2070)
MP (t490)
Button (t2225)
SB (t2335)

Preflop: Hero is BB with T[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
2 folds, Button raises to t300, 1 fold, Hero calls t150.

Flop: (t675) K[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
Hero is all in for 580, Button folds.

Final Pot: t675

I would muck this and see what the next few hands bring. He doesn't have to call that much, so he could call with any pair, despite being tight. I think you'll find a better spot the next few hands.

If I let the SB and BB go through me, that leaves me with about 4BB. Not really enough FE to let this opportunity go, IMHO.

You sounded frustrated that I made a post without a cry for help included somewhere. I sensed attitude. Often people will have said attitude while having a bad day. Others, because they haven't gotten laid in a while. I pinned you as someone who doesn't have problems with the latter.

well thanks for the sentiment.

i've actually been thinking of putting up a thread that says "please post one hand you think you played well each day here," mostly to see how many of them are other stop and goes or PVS plays.

and yes, you should know, every time i read a thread that doesn't say oh man bad beats x132095872409872 /endlife aaarrgh, i get sad. i'd much rather read another thread about a downswing than a thread about some random hand without much content... in turn i'd rather read such a thread than one with content as well...

You were lucky this guy was a tight player. I can't imagine you getting away with this against a good player. Maybe if you told us the buy-in level...

Good point. It was a 20+2. My feeling was that if I didn't make a move soon, I would be losing my FE shortly. What's more, the blinds were going up in 2 hands. Still too premature a move?
