Bunky's playing for stacks with one pair hands

Hey Everyone,
I've been wading around in the forum for a while, finally figured it might be time to take the plunge and make a post.
While reading someone's "What are the leaks in your game?" post, I found it interesting that Bunky's answer was something to the effect of, "Play for people's stacks more often with one-pair hands." I'm a relatively inexperienced (2 yrs) but moderately successful (still have the shirt on my back)1/2 NL player at Paradise, and I've been having trouble getting value for my one-pair hands. Back to the question: How does one go about winning people's stacks with one-pair hands?

I could be wrong, but it seems like this will happen in only 2 cases:

1) You hold an overpair and catch an aggressive player with a smaller overpair or TPTK, or

2) You pick off someone pushing on a bluff/semi-bluff.

In my games, the latter doesn't happen all that frequently, since people are pretty hesitant to move in with anything short of the nuts, and it doesn't seem that the former would happen enough that one could count it as a major weakness in their game. So could someone fill me in? Am I missing something?

I might be wrong, but the way I interpreted Mr. Bunky's post was that he USED to play for stacks with just one-pair hands, and that he no longer does. This seemed logical to me, as it's usually not worth risking your whole stack with a holding such as TPTK, which is usually not good if somebody is pushing on you (unless they are ultra-aggressive or like to semibluff a lot). I am interested in this topic as well though, and I would like to see how other people interpreted Bunky's post.
