I'm really tired of broken converter complaints

If you can't find a working converter... TYPE IT OUT BY HAND!!! It takes about 3 minutes and you don't need to use the fancy coloring schemes when you type it out by hand.

Addendum: This includes "The converter wasn't working, so here's an unformatted hand history."

maybe if everyone just stopped responding to those posts, it would eventually change, but yeah its annoying

and the converter isn't even broken

party HH's just delete Texas and make sure there is just 1 space and it works fine

I've only used the hand converter once and I think typing it out gives me a better grasp of the hand than anything so I might not use it again.

Every time I read a post like this it makes me want to go back and finish up the modularization of bison's hand convertor. I think that the fact that the project is a complete mess and is completely unmaitainable is a huge reason why no one has picked up the project.

(Hrm, now if only maitaining the converter was +EV in and of itself...)

Well, no one has bitten on my (very subtle and hidden at the bottom) party sign up link there. So I guess it's not +ev.

I have vague fantasies of a super converter that does some poker-stove type things on each street.

I tried hosting a fixed converter, but ran into the same problems topspin had: it bloated to about 800MB of ram and started messing with other users on the system. I don't know why (or if) it works on bison's server, but there's something terribly wrong with it and I don't know nearly enough (read: any) Perl to fix it. Shame though; we just got some new suit emoticons over at SA and we could use an update.
