River: ($3.34) Q[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB checks, Hero checks.

Final Pot: $3.34

I see a lot of strong hands check call flop, check call turn, and check raise the river. I thought there was a decent chance he had AA. I didn't think of it at the time, but he could have also had QQ and hit his set. I don't think I could call if he raised my bet. On the other hand, he could have had an ace and was chasing the 4. 66-JJ are also decent possibilities. I don't think he calls a bet with many hands that I have beat. Is a check on the river too weak?

if he's waiting to checkraise the river with AA he's crazy. I'd go ahead and bet about half the pot. I think you are ahead more often than you are behind. If you get checkraised, then you have a decision to make. If this particular villain has checkraised rivers a lot, i'd go ahead and check behind because i want to see a showdown with this hand, but if he hasn't checkraised a lot of rivers i'd bet.

I also think that you are ahead here alot and a value bet is in order. Something along the lines of 1/3-1/2 the pot.

raise more Pre flop.

Bet more on the flop.

Check behind him on turn.

Fire out behind his check on river. If he bets enough, just call.

Okay, so value bet the river. I make money from 66-JJ here. Is that what you put him on or do you think he calls after he missed his straight with ace high?

I like the check behind. He'll fold to a bet if he missed his draw, but raise if he has you beat.

You can't give a free card on the turn. He often has seven outs with AX.

Bobby is right. It would have been wrong to check the turn. Villain did indeed have 7 outs, showing AK. He called my check a stupid play, but I don't think it was. I would be surprised if he called a sizable river bet with AK and if I make a small bet, he may raise, sensing weakness.

Villian had 3 outs and you showed weakness the entire way with your betting pattern. You shouldnt be afraid to get your money in when you have the overpair on a flop of unders.

four 4's make villain a straight.

to the OP:
your minraise preflop is pretty terrible

you need to bet more on the flop

i'd bet a little more on the turn

checking the river is standard unless you have a very good read that he has QQ/JJ and will pay you off.
