Default Bally\'s AC Floor: Live Straddles prohibited by NJ Gaming Commission???

I was playing 2/4 yesterday at Ballys Atlantic City. I had only planned on playing there for a little bit just to check out the room, but the game was amazing and I was running over the table. (9 to the flop capped preflop)

I was getting bored sometimes and I had a huge stack and would straddle every few rounds. The fist 2 dealers I did it with had no problem with it, but on another down the action got back to me and I tried to raise, and was told I couldn't. The dealer said there are no straddles and when I told him I straddles all that ment to him was a blind raise.

I pulled my raise back to keep the action going because the floor was slow as [censored] at responding to floor calls, but I asked a floorman if this was Bally's policy and he told me "No, live Straddles are not allowed in Atlantic City, it's New Jersey law". Is this accurate?

Just wait till you get your cards and announce "blind raise."

I have heard many times that live straddles are prohibited by ACGC. However, I am not an expert.

That sucks. I just couldn't undserstand why 2 dealers had no problem with it then.

(Well I do understand, it's because they are retarded)

I don't know exactly who prohibits it, but you can't live straddle in AC, you can blind raise, which means you can't make it 3 bets when it gets back to you.

AC has lots of wierd rules, that's one of them

True. Another strange AC rule regulates the color of chip denominations. $5 chips MUST be red. $10 have to be blue, and so on. In Vegas, OTOH, casinos seem to have the freedom to do whatever they want with their chip colors. Yes, blackis usually $100 and green $25, etc, but MGM has blue $1's, Aladdin has white $1s...

I like the chip denomination rule. It's good to be consistant. I do wisht the $1 would be blue instead of white. It's so much cooler (and gets less dirty)
