Default My dilemma with going out to eat

I've worked in the restaurant industry for several years now. I started off flipping burgers, I've waited tables, and I've bartended. I've worked in numerous establishments. I also have many friends who work in the f&b industry as well. As a result of all this 'insider' knowledge, it makes me second guess where I eat food at. I've seen so many dirty restaurants, heard horror stories of servers messing with food... I just generally know what's going on at a restaurant, whether it be sit-down-and-eat or fast-food.

When I go out to get food, I rarely go to a chain restaurant. Generally those places are the worst with the exception of the fine-dining chain restaurant.

And I don't like fast-food joints because I know the food isn't good for me and I question the people who are preparing my food.

That pretty much limits the places I eat at to the restaurant where I currently work (it's a privately owned NY Italian Restaurant) and fast food places where I can see them making the food (Subway and Quiznos for example).

I really need to learn how to cook. 1: It'll save me money and 2: I'll avoid these problems I've discussed.

Be careful when you go out to eat. There's alot going on that many people do not realize. I can honestly say that I have never messed with anyone's food or drink no matter how much they've upset me. But that's not true for everyone. Be careful. Be aware that your server or bartender may be a jerk and could quite easily mess with what you're about to consume.
