Re: 30k hands stats post. I suck at not sucking, help me not suck.
I guess I will start with what I am concerned about...
My VPIP from the SB is high My WTSD% is high and my W$SD% is low. My Aggression numbers are high, and my folded to river bet % is low. |

Are you cold calling from the SB a lot? Your folded SB to steal seems way high for a 1/3 structure..

1. too tight in big blind.
2. IMO too agg on flop but some win with this style. Most would agree too agg on turn I think. |

Re: 30k hands stats post. I suck at not sucking, help me not suck.
VPIP in the SB is high for 3/6. You are defending your SB against a steal raise too much. I think this number should be 85+.
You don't defend your BB enough. My fold BB to steal raise is 50, but I think I'm too loose. I believe it should be around 55. Bear in mind that you want to defend with high cards, but you also want to defend with smaller hands that have more than one way to win like 86s is fine against a typical steal. My aggression numbers are similar to yours, and my win rate is excellent over 60K hands of mostly 5/10, so I believe it's possible to make that much aggression work (though I'm sure I've been running good too). I've been trying to tone it down a bit, pick better spots for debatable/marginal turn raises, something to think about. Also raising the flop with just overcards, I went through a phase where I was doing it without considering the alternatives, which are often better. That could be part of your high flop aggression. SSH has a good chapter on overcards. My folded to river bet/went to showdown/won $ at showdown is similar to yours too. I'm trying to limit how much I pay off, maybe you should too. But those numbers are as much influenced by our high aggression as they are by how often we pay off. ZZZ |

FWIW, I'm something like 21VPIP in this game and my VPIPfSB is definitely under 25.

Re: 30k hands stats post. I suck at not sucking, help me not suck.
I actually think that a W$SD around 50% is close to ideal for these limits. When you play an aggressive game, you need to call down a bit more with marginal hands against observant opponents, who will lower their raising standards as an adjustment to your aggression. You also are tending to build bigger pots, so all other things being equal, you should be calling down more.
The main question is whether you are building the right big pots. Don't overdo it with raising draws -- remember you're raising them on the flop either for equity or for deception (e.g. a free card). Sometimes neither of these conditions can be satisfied, in which case the less aggressive play of calling is better. Also, you want to raising your made hands a lot, and one of the keys is figuring out which hands to raise on the flop and which to wait for the turn. This is discussed in SSHE some and also on the boards quite frequently. And you also want to get to some showdowns cheaply, so don't be afraid to check behind on the turn and call a river bet when appropriate. You're at limits where people will often auto-bluff when they sense weakness. I don't think your stats show any glaring leaks. I think you should read other hands and see if the concepts can be applied to your game, and to continue posting hands yourself. Just stick with it and keep improving your game. |

Correction for my previous post, I'm actually about 26 VPIPfSB. I'm obviously a LAG, who knew?
