Re: What type of poker should I teach friends?
Cubs is right on this. Your friends should be looking to getting some sort of work experience during the summer as well. Even if it is part time and unpaid. They will have plenty of time for poker in the evenings when it is best anyhow.
Listen to us older, wiser posters.... we know what we are talking about. I didnt have my first internship until late in my college career and i really really regret it. Poker/whoring will be there in the evening when you get home. cubs |

I agree with this. Teaching the way though will be good spending money during the fall and spring semesters though.

Re: What type of poker should I teach friends?
Never thought of the BJ whoring. Is there a site that list the best ones to whore like bounuswhores does for poker? Also how long does it usually take to clear these $100 bonuses?

Finally, how should I charge them? [/ QUOTE ] WHat kind of dink charges his friends? Also, if they've never played for money, like others here have said, having them skip out on a conventional job or intership is idiotic |

Re: What type of poker should I teach friends?

Starluck's promotion requirements are wagering 8x your buy-in + bonus amount. So if you threw in $100, you'd have $200 in your account. You'd have to wager $900 total to satisfy the requirement. Just seems like after wagering 900 $1 bets, you have a good chance of ending up below your initial $100 buy-in. Can someone explain this to me? [/ QUOTE ] Sure. Multiply the house edge (about .43% for typical Vegas Strip rules, IIRC) by the total amount wagered (actually $1600 in this case, not $900 as stated above), and you get $6.88. This is the amount you would lose on average, leaving you with a $93 profit overall. Of course, BJ is fairly volatile, so you'll rarely have an "average" session like this (I've had bonuses where I lost $$$ overall, and others where I tripled up or better). However, betting as small as possible tends to smooth out the variance a bit. |

What kind of dink charges his friends? [/ QUOTE ] I don't know why people have called me out on this. I'm helping them learn to make much more than they could at a normal job, and I would think I could expect at least some token compensation for the time I spent tutoring them. |

Also, if they've never played for money, like others here have said, having them skip out on a conventional job or intership is idiotic [/ QUOTE ] I think this is really dependent on the person. The people I'm talking about have reasonable job experience already, and I don't think they were even interested in internships in the first place. |

Re: What type of poker should I teach friends?
I don't think you can turn most people who have never played for money into significant enough winners in the time frame involved.
How much do you truly think they can earn playing poker the first month, second month, etc? And when I was in college I didn't have the money at the beginning of the summer to finance a bankroll. |

Getting a Bankroll 1. Open up a Neteller account with the $100. 2. Open up a Star luck Casino account. Follow the BJ chart for the site and get the $100 for $100 match bonus. You should finish with a profit by flat betting $1 a hand. Do not bet more than $1 a hand. Don’t stop following the chart. Finish the requirements and withdraw to Neteller 3. Planet Luck is just like Star luck, so repeat with just $100. Leave the rest in Neteller. Follow the BJ chart for the site and get the $100 for $100 match bonus. You should finish with a profit by flat betting $1 a hand. Do not bet more than $1 a hand. Don’t stop following the chart. Finish the requirements and withdraw to Neteller 4. Casino on Net is $200 for $200 match. Follow the BJ chart for the site and get the $100 for $100 match bonus. You should finish with a profit by flat betting $1 a hand. Do not bet more than $1 a hand. Don’t stop following the chart. Finish the requirements and withdraw to Neteller 5. Ace Club is next. $100 for $100. [/ QUOTE ] maybe i'm nitpicking here, but, PLEASE, don't post this stuff in the zoo, this is how profitable bonuses get killed. remember capt. cooks? remember main st? i do... *sighs* BTW, your info is innacurate. PM me and i will explain. (no spam) |
