Default The Greatest Book of Poker for Winners

Is The Greatest Book of Poker for Winners any good? Mason gave it an 8 I believe and it is suppose to have a really good stud section. I trust it contains good info, but does it teach anything new or worth wild I couldn't find in 7CSFAP, SSI, or Roy West?

I didn't like it at all. Honestly, I don't understand what Mason liked about it. I certainly don't think it has anything that West's book or SMZ doesn't cover better. The advice generally isn't horrible, but I found it completely unremarkable, and not well written.

Here's a full review:

I'm curious to hear what others have liked about it.

Hi Nick:

If you follow the advice in this book and play the low limit stud games that it is targeted for, you should win a little. That's a lot better than most other books.

It doesn't make any sense to compare it to our stud book since that is targeted for a very different game. Also, I do agree that the book is written in a somewhat silly manner.

Best wishes,
Mason

Mason, is this the best work on low limit stud you have seen or is there anything else you'd recommend? Thanks!

For some reason I only read a small part of the Roy West book. But I also believe it is pretty good.

I don't recommend the Adams book, and the other one by Kammen I haven't read.

Best wishes,
Mason
