Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
I have been going on by far the longest non-winning streak I’ve ever experienced ($1-$2). I think a lot of my problem is coming from being overly aggressive in the wrong spots. Like this hand;
Party Poker 1/2 Hold'em (9 handed) converter SB (49 hands), 26,2: UTG+1 (47 hands), 44,0: Button (76 hands), 26,6 Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1. 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, 2 folds, Hero (poster) checks, Button calls, SB raises, 1 fold, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, Hero calls, Button calls. Flop: (11 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls. I raise the flop thinking I probably have the best hand, but also to buy button and get a free river if the turn is bad. Turn: (10.50 BB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) SB bets, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls, Hero raises, Button calls, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 calls. I raise here thinking I still probably have the best hand and to try to punish the flush draws. River: (20.50 BB) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (5 players) SB checks, UTG+1 checks, MP1 checks, Hero bets, Button raises, SB calls, UTG+1 calls, MP1 folds, Hero calls. Final Pot: 28.50 BB I bet the river still thinking I have the best hand. I go oh crap when Button raises and call because the pot is too big to fold for one more bet. Am I just in a total chip spewing fest here or what? |

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
I would fold this PF.
I like the flop. On the turn SB has just bet again and everyone stuck around. I don't think another raise will do much good. |

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
Fold preflop.
Flop raise is good. Call the turn. Check/call the river. |

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
you have a pretty weak hand. i like the flop, anyone who will fold folds. however i check/call the turn and river. a raise on the turn isnt going to do much i dont think, if it didnt scare them out earlier- they either have a st8 draw or a set or PP. why are you even in this hand to begin with? i fold preflop, to raise in SB u have a better hand than yours.

Preflop: Hero is CO with 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Hero posts a blind of $1. [/ QUOTE ] I too normaly fold pre-flop, but it was my first hand at the table. |

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
Yes, we knew that.
Q8 still sucks. It's a marginal call preflop at best. *edit - first hand at table? How does this change anything? |

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
even with 9 bets already in? I appoligize if im sounding like a donk here, but isnt that a rather large pot already to fold for one more small bet?

Re: Protecting my hand or chip spewing?!
Hero is getting 13.5:1, isn't 3 outs enough to call here?
