Re: Sometimes you get AQ and wish you hadn\'t.
I personally think so against a total unknown. But that is why I am folding preflop, I want to have some info on people before I get involved in these types of situtations. It's also why I just call a flop check raise. If you just call down you put in 2BB to see showdown. You put 1BB more in then folded. Given the random donk/LAG factor in these games means I like option 1 a lot better.

Re: Sometimes you get AQ and wish you hadn\'t.
First of all w/o a read 3bet this PF, you're supposed to CC almost NEVER (<1/5K hands) which means you need a good reason, like coldcallers in between and a mid pp suited connector, this is not one of those situations. Raise PF, if u have a read that hes a rock maybe you can find the fold button. On the flop, you must cap, and then reevaluate on the turn. I do wish i had AQ in this spot btw

[ QUOTE ]
We are playing against a player at party .5/1 that we have no reads or stats on. We have to be good 1/5 times for this to be profitable. Easy call down. [/ QUOTE ] Sorry for the completely idiotic question, but how do you come to the 1/5 ratio? |

Re: Sometimes you get AQ and wish you hadn\'t.
Pot is 9BB on the turn. If we call down and win we win 11BB, if we call down and lose we lose 2BB. So we need to be good at least 2/11 approx. 1/5

Re: Sometimes you get AQ and wish you hadn\'t.
preflop: already been commented on.
don't like the flop 3-bet. the way the hand was played, i'm folding to the flop cap and not even seeing the turn. you guys really think after a preflop raise and a check/raise/cap, he's bluffing? this is not weaksauce. |

[/ QUOTE ] I'm thinking this is probably the best line. Fold to the flop cap. There is just no way that hero can be ahead here. Edit: And hero is virtually drawing dead to villain's likely holdings. |

Re: Sometimes you get AQ and wish you hadn\'t.
I agree with all the PF and flop discussion about those being bad. Given the way it was played, on the turn you have 10 BB in the pot.
So if he has AK (or any 2 pair here actually) you have outs - any Q, 7 or 3 counterfits his 2 pair and your kicker is better...you win. that is 9 outs for you. If he doesn't have an A you have 3 more outs which I'm not even counting. cut this in 1/2 on the off chance he fills in a boat - 4.5 outs 46 cards...10 to 1...call. Edit - sorry against AK you will lose as your 2p worse you need to counterfit higher - Doh. I still think it is a call but need to rethink the outs.... |
