Suited connectors, suited aces, suited kings , does 5/10 rule applies?

Kind of a simple situation here. Lets say you have position on a UTG raiser who brought in for $8 in a $1/2$, he has $220 behind him, someone calls in MP. You hold T9s on the button and has $250, should you call?How much(%) of the lesser stack can you call here?

i'd call in a hurry. you have position, its 4% and somebody else is already in.

but dont get carried away with suited "cons", they don't hit nearly as often as pairs and they don't have the same edge as a set would.

suited kings? lets not get carried away and start playing K2s to a big raise. thats a losing play from the cards standpoint....that is, a losing play without position and the ability to outplay

I think a lot of it depends on how good your post flop play is. Lots of people call with something like 9Ts, hit the flop (like 9 j 4 - rainbow), and automatically give the raiser credit for making a bigger hand when he bets. If you are good at piecing together when you are ahead in these situations hands like 9Ts, and even 9To become playable to PF raises with position. 9Ts is only a small dog to AKo pre-flop.

Stack sizes and play syles should need to be sufficient to justify the call. With 9Ts your probably going to have to draw to make a big hand or try to show down something mediocre. If your opponents are really aggresive it is going to be hard to do either of these things. Also if the chips stacks are small it is not worth it for obvious reasons. With typical opponents and buy-in sized stacks - I say go for it. Calling might be -EV in the short run while you learning how to play these hands, but with practice they ought to make money for you in these marginal situations.
