Part of an argument about the existence of an intelligent God I once heard included the fact that the universe has gone from a chaotic state to an ordered state. Order is evidence of intelligence at work.
If there is no God, then it must be an intrinsic property of the Universe to order itself. Assuming this process goes on for as long as the universe exist its concievable that the end result would be something that is infinitely ordered. Would something that is infinitely ordered be God? Stu |

the universe has gone from a chaotic state to an ordered state. [/ QUOTE ] I am not convinced this sentence is true. If it isn't, then the rest of the argument falls apart. |

[ QUOTE ] Why? What do we know? [/ QUOTE ] We know that we exist. I am pretty certain the plasma soup at the start of the big bang was not capable of knowing. Stu [/ QUOTE ] What's so important about that? The stuff in the "plasma soup" still ate, crapped, and procreated. Isn't "we know that we exist" sorta circular? I mean, if we didn't exist we sure as hell wouldn't know it. And if we didn't know we existed, would we exist? |

Stu [/ QUOTE ] if you take chemistry or physics you will learn about entropy. There is some law about it which says the order in the universe is always decreasing. It is impossible for any event to make the universe more ordered. things like conscience people, houses and civiliazation which are ordered are allowed because in the long run they actually create more disorder in the long run. |
