Default Niagara Seneca - Quick Review and Trip Report

We had a wedding up in Niagara Falls this weekend, and my wife and I decided to drop by the casino on Sunday morning before driving back the 3 hours to Cleveland.

We walked around the falls a bit, bought the kids souviniers, and headed to the casino.

We showed up at around 10 AM and headed to the pokerroom to see what was spread.

The only current games going I was told was a tournament to late to buy into, and some 1-2 NL, and 2-4 Limit.

Not in the mood to play NL, I signed up for the 2-4 game, and put myself on the interest list for 3-6, and 3-6 Omaha 8s.

I looked like from their board they spread up to about 15-30, as well as 5-5 No limit, and I know they also had a 1-5 spread limit stud game that got started while I was there.

Without going into too much detail, the room was about 16 tables, clean, the dealers seemed to know what they were doing, and the players were your regualar cast of misfits.

There was a guy who stopped by who couldn't seem to donate fast enough.

After making my straight from pocket 3s (On a flop of 245) , he basically told me to enjoy the extra $4.

The was another guy who after asking how much the turn bet was, also asked if that was the last card to be shown.

7 to the flop was common during the day, and about 95% of all hands were dealt at least to the river, with most of those going to showdown.

One time when I raised Pre-flop from late position and took down the blinds, the dealer said she sees that about once a week - and she wasn't kidding.

A couple hands of note.

From the BB - I get dealt 2 cards. (I played all BB hands blind until bet into).

After checking a flop of Q T 8 - 2 spades, it is bet and raised to me. I know the better might have a hand, but the raiser was loose and would make it with just a bare Ten.

I decided to 3 bet. and get called by a total of 4 people. The turn is an ugly 9 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. I check, it's checked around to the loose raiser, who bets, I call, a fold, a Raise (must have the J). 2 calls, and then I call closing action.

Turn - is a nice T [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I check, figuring a bet will come from somewhere. Ms. Jack also checks, another check, and then Mr. Loose bets. I am pretty sure I have the best hand, but want to pick up overcalls, so I just call. The straight throughs out a disgusted call, and the guy closing action calls, and flips over the nut flush. Mr loose is excited (and I'm now worried he has QQ), and flips over 88 - for bottom boat.

I gladly turn over my QT for a better boat, and Mr. Jack throws her straight away. I took a huge pot with a 4 outer - that i probably should have folded on the turn.

I did run one sucsessful bluff from the Button when a guy who overplayed marginal hands - raised from the BB, and I re-raised from the button.

We went only 4 handed into the flop - which was QQ5 - rainbow.

I figured this was the prefect hand to continue to bluff with, as I raised the BBs bet on the flop, got it down to heads up, and was able to push him out after he check called the turn, he had to check fold to my continued agression on the river.

All in all I played about 4 hours, and came away up $150 - so almost 40 BB, or 10/hr.
I'd say it was a good session, and I look forward to going back.
