Default A6s 5 handed.

Party Poker No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t200 (5 handed) converter

Hero (t860)
BB (t2070)
UTG (t2540)
MP (t3270)
Button (t1260)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 6[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].

Folded to MP who raises to T700, folded to hero??

Same table as the A8 hand posted earlier. Villain has come to life after beating my 99 with AA. Hero has been playing tight now with almost no chips left.

Hmmm, I'd really like to chose one of the 3 hands you'll see having cleared the blinds. Suited though. I just don't like his sizable raise amount into a healthy BB. Short of a KQ type hand, I don't like your chances with that kicker against any other Ace or medium-to-high PP. I'd probably give it up...not confident that is the correct thing to do

You'll have only ~3.5bb left if you pass this up. I call and push any flop. i.e., stop and go (it'll 90% of the time be called, but meh, preflop push will be 100%)

FYP

Unless villain has been super aggressive, I would fold here since the blinds are passing me. But I wouldn't particularly argue with playing the hand. It's just a bad spot to be in.

You never know, people are morons.. I've seen far worse folds, often times to my stop and go But, ok, let's say 99%

I fold and try to push some rags later.

This statement is no bueno, "Hero has been playing tight now with almost no chips left."

People will fold to a 4-5xbb raise.

But you won't have 4-5xbb left anymore. I really think this one is close. I can see the argument for folding but the top 3 are moving away into the sunset at present.

I'd be willing to bet a6s is behind his range of raising.

This is a fold imo, I'd rather race with ten high versus the bb's random hand.

By the 4-5xbb comment I meant to say that I would be more willing to push a random hand before the blinds hit me than put myself in this position.

Probably highly dependant on the pre-flop raise/saw flop percentages of villan. If he only raises with big pairs and aces, I think a definite fold.

After furthur analysis, he would have to be really super loose for this to be a call.
