Best and Worst Movie remake ever???

My recent unfortunate viewing of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, has got me trying to think of a remake of a classic film that is better than the original.

The 3 most recent one's I have seen (charlie, the manchurian candidate, and the stepford wives) were horrible movies even if you didn't even know that previous better versions existed.

Are there any movies that are actually better than the original?
