I don't own PokerPal or TexasCalculatem or any similar software. Based on my reading of their websites, though, these programs somehow get info on your hole cards, the board cards, and betting action during a hand.

Can anyone who has used these programs verify this?

Second, do you know how these programs obtain the information. If you select "Dealer: Everything" on party poker, the complete state of the game will appear in the chat box, except for you hole cards, IIRC. So do these programs "listen" to PartyPoker and other clients, or do they do some kind of screen scrape? Any ideas?
