Hand 1 is nice. You don't have to worry about giving a free card unless he has an unlikely set, and you don't risk being bluffed out and might induce a bluff, or might even induce a call if he checks the river.

Hand 2 turn bet is a must, what makes you think they hold a jack? I'd value bet the river. You can almost forget about him holding a jack, so it's either a flush, or some pair or ace high and I think alot more hands are calling that you beat.

I don't think I would. I'd put villian on overcards, a draw, or something like 88. I can't imagine a worse hand calling. Maybe Ace high?

hand 1 looks good
hand 2 i bet a flush completing jack and a nonflush completing jack. i will pay off to a checkraise because they are unknowns.

Why aren't we betting the turn in hand 1?

Hand1: villian had 77noheart

Hand2: I checked behind, I figured my opponent was most likely on a draw, and I wouldn't get payed by a worse hand, not sure how many 6x, 5x, 4x hand he could have there, or if he'd call with Ahigh.

Hand 1: You pick up a straight draw to add to your TPDK HU? Bet the turn, call a raise and call the river with no 7.

Hand 2: Bet the river. Hes calling down with any piece.

I like Hand 1.

Hand 2 is tricky. I think checking is ok, or bet/folding depending on how loose he is. I definitely bet and probably call a raise in hand 2 if it wasn't a [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].

I don't like your reasoning in hand 1. I think bottomset played it perfect. The turn brings a 4th [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], so the straight does nothing for us. We have a small flush. By checking thru, we avoid a check raise if he has a high [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], and if he doesn't we can induce a bluff on the river and win one more bet.
