I'd be much more inclinded to try this if the raise came from the SB.

This completely depends on reads. How often was the button raising when it folded to him? Did you ever see him fold after he made a sizable bet? Was 275 the standard open at the table? I love this move if he's been very active when folded to, and has made a few steal-appearing raises within the last 10 orbits. I like it a lot less if he's been playing very tight/aggressive poker.

Not very. He needs to fold 50%+ of the time to make this even close to +EV..

Or to put it another way, he needs to be raising with top 22% (33+,A3o+,A2s+,KJo+,KTs+,QJs) if he folds 50% of the time and for this to be +EV.

Now if he folds 2/3rds of the time it's a no brainer, but I doubt he would fold that much.

I do this too much and get too many loose calls.

Well if he folds a third or less you're in trouble unless he's REALLY loose (like, 75% of hands raising)

I do this all the time with a bigger stack and a good read on him. If he had done this more than once I do this I push. I this is his first raise or second raise from lp I fold.
