Default 99

Ok, so I sit down with a brand new screenname and I post in the BB for my first hand. SB is LPP (datamined) but no hands on anyone else.

Party 10/20. We're 5 handed and I'm dealt 9 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] in the BB. UTG limps, CO openraises, Button 3 bets, SB drops, I call, UTG and CO call.

flop is K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]
checked to button who bets, this is an easy check raise right?

hmm ok I thought I could be tricky and change things around and seem all aggro. I actually made what I consider to be a very loose flop peel. EDIT: not closing the action.

I think a peel is far worse than a c/r. Against unknowns I would fold.

even though everyone's range is probably fairly wide at 10/20? I would agree with you on an A high flop...but isn't there tons of stuff in my favor here including the bdsd, and the pot is huge?

I wouldn't assume the 3bettor had a wide range. This is clearly not a steal situation, so I would assume a pretty solid range for the button, to which you are pretty far behind. If I had some inclination that the button was laggy preflop, and raising light, I would certainly prefer a c/r to a call. I would say most of your equity in this hand is derived from when you are ahead on the flop and remain that way, so protection would be a high priority if I were to continue. UTG and the CO are likely to peel with broadways with bdfds, and hands like AT and AJ, but faced with 2 bets you may encourage some incorrect folds from them.

I c/r this as a standard line. I'm recently reevaluating these types of plays so I could be off base. If i bust out of this tourney early I'll crunch some #s.

opinion on PF? mine was that I wasnt pushing anyone out often enough and the pot was gonna be big enough to require showdown so why not choose my flops since the value is thin. on the right track?

Yeah I call inteding to c/r favorable flops, where favorable ='s "improved me" or "didn't appear to improve my opponents".

I'd probably let it go if I wasn't in a blind...if I was OTB and wanted to play I'd 4bet, I <3 position.
