I had a small bet on this and it appears it won't be paid. As per the terms of the book(Sportingbet group) I played at, the bet is voided as "no action" since the game didn't go at least 55 minutes and it is being postponed more than 12 hours.

Wish this would be paid but at least Jiri Fischer is going to be okay.

That kind of sucks. The game being postponed doesn't interfere with the fact that the preds scored first. I thought it would be paid out based on this rule for baseball:

Team to Score First Props are listed pitchers and will be graded as soon as the first team scores and once the home team has at least a chance to bat. If the home team scores first, that bet will be graded at that time and bets are action regardless of game suspension or postponement. If the visiting team scores first the bet will be graded once the home team has completed their at bat.

But I guess that doesn't apply to hockey.

Rainouts in baseball obviously happen far more frequently than cancellations in hockey. If there was going to be a rule for hockey, I can't see any reason for it to be different than the baseball rule, but the fact is apparently no one ever thought to make one.

In the absence of a rule I'd tend to think the default would be no action, so I can't say this was a horrible call by the book. It's definitely a big-time bad beat though.

I notice the value has gone down for the team to score first pick, at least at bodog.
