$20/40: 77 in cutoff
The new Party $20/40, full game with a couple of sit-outs.
Folded to me on the button and I raise 7 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]7 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]. The button and big blind calls. Flop: Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]6 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]. Big blinds checks, I bet, button raises and big blinds folds. Plans for the rest of the hand? lars |

Re: $20/40: 77 in cutoff
Are you the CO? I'm going to assume that, but it's not quite clear.
Anyway, my plan for the hand would be to try to get to showdown cheaply if things don't get too scary. i.e. if he is still leading when a diamond or two more overcards hit, I think you can get away from it. Folding right there, or check folding a blank turn seems too weak... But how short was it? If it's still like 8 handed, I probably would have an easier time releasing it. If it's an aggressive 5 handed game, I think I take it to showdown. Another thought: what about a stop and go on the turn. You lead out again, charging diamonds, maybe confuse him into giving you a free showdown, and if you get popped it's a safe fold against all but the trickiest players, right? |

I called the turn raise and check called two pretty blank non-diamond cards.
My opponent showed Q [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] for a quality float. Lars |

Re: $20/40: 77 in cutoff
I would 3-bets the flop and then:
1) If he caps the flop and bets the turn I fold. 2) If he calls and checks the turn I would bet and fold if raised with the intention of check-folding the river. 3) If he calls and bets the turn I fold (with calling a close second). |
