Default When to post and fold, if at all?

Say your in a STT (10 players, everyone starts with 1,000) and you got some premium hands early and you boost your stack to 4k. There are 6 players left, should you just post and fold until you make 3rd place? I'm just brainstorming here so don't slam me.

Thanks

no, you should use this to your advantage, not just waste chips.

You're not really brainstorming. You came up with an idea but offered no explanations yourself as to why you think this idea might be a good one. Try to come up with some ideas and maybe you'll see why this is a very bad idea.

Seriously, if you have an edge over the field, why wouldn't you use every possible opportunity to apply that edge? Being conservative is one thing, but posting and folding AA is just stupid.

What about doing this right from the start? What are the chances you will make the money without even doing anything?

I tried this enough to be pretty sure it is a solid winning strategy in the free games if you allow for a loose definition of winning.

I was really curious about whether the $6 games could be beat this way. I played a small sample and am pretty sure, but not totally sure that it is not profitable. I didn't lose every time though.

FWIW, I've been in a fair amount of games where I had a pretty short stack with 4 left. And a medium stack sitting out. Everyone knows the med stack is sitting and they let me fold/steal until he was blinded away.
