i didn't have PAHUD running but i thought for sure you would have AQ or AJ there. i was a bit surprised to see A7, but i will agree if you said my image was very laggy.

You had a very laggy image. I wouldn't pull nonsense like this if you didn't (I still can't figure out why you called the river):

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (7 handed) internettexasholdem.com

Preflop: Hero is BB with A[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
<font color="#666666">3 folds</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO raises</font>, <font color="#666666">2 folds</font>, Hero calls.

Flop: (4.50 SB) 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, <font color="#CC3333">CO 3-bets</font>, Hero calls.

Turn: (5.25 BB) 4[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
Hero checks, <font color="#CC3333">CO bets</font>, <font color="#CC3333">Hero raises</font>, CO calls.

River: (9.25 BB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] <font color="#0000FF">(2 players)</font>
<font color="#CC3333">Hero bets</font>, CO calls.

Final Pot: 11.25 BB

Results:
Hero has Ad 3h (two pair, nines and threes).
CO has Ah Qs (one pair, nines).
Outcome: Hero wins 11.25 BB.

Dunno what read you had on him miles, but that hand looks like a standard "trips" play to me.

He saw you was being aggressive after him so why cap and have you check the turn? So then he raises.

i think you played that badly(Don't know what read you had on him).
Whats your reasoning for going past the turn?

hehe

why would he risk me folding the turn if he had trips?

to me his hand looks like a lot like a worse ace high or some other two overcards.
he could also be doing this with pocket pairs between 9 and 3. trips are in his range
sure, but i think the turn check raise is too strong to be trips.

if he had trips i think he should/would bet hoping to 3-bet the turn.

if he had a 3, i don't understand allowing me to 3-bet again (aaron was not at
the table for long, but i do not think i had 3-bet the flop with ace high before this hand).
i said something about his check raise after this hand - when i saw what he had it
surprised me.

so honestly his hand looks very very odd here, and i feel that the pot is large
enough and i have the best hand or enough outs to the best hand to just call this down.

Yeah. I was completely baffled that you called the turn check-raise. I figured you had a weak pocket pair (22, 44-66) or maybe you had a LAGgro steal gone bad but you just can't get away (some junk hand with a 3 in it). I would never have guessed two overcards.

Well, he's got to extract money from you somehow and he's ahead with trips for sure so why not raise the turn?

On the river sure you want to pay to see SD, but if your drawing to overcards, why not charge you more whilst theres cards to see?

How else do you play trips? You slow play to the river? But then all the cards are dealt so you'd need to be fairly confidant your opponent likes to see showdown/has a made hand right?

I think your finding excuses to continue and would be stung by trips alot Vs unknowns if you didn't fold the turn. I assume him being a 2+2er made you doubt it? i.e. you'd not play it like this vs a unknown non 2+2er?

pokher - did you read the rest of my post?

obviously i don't play the hand like this vs. an unknown. put yourself in my shoes here. a 2+2er calls preflop in the big blind and check raises a paired board. AQ looks like the best hand extremely often here, so i 3-bet.

at this point, what should he do with trips?

should he fastplay and cap? not a bad idea.

should he bet the turn hoping to 3-bet vs. all overpairs and some underpairs that i would have 3-bet on the flop, and also get me to call down with ace high? this seems like the best line for sure.

or is he next leveling my ass and realizing that a turn check raise absolutely does not look like trips to me? in that case, bravo.

After thinking about this some more, I take it back. Overcards make enough sense. You don't need to worry about Ax two pair hands because the 99 on the board counterfeits the reverse domination. There's no reason to think you don't have 6 clean outs when you have outs.

I'm still surprised you thought I was double check-raising air and taht Ace-high might be good. What did I do to deserve such a LAG repuation?
