Default Adjusting play with loose, chasing opponent

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $2 BB (6 handed) converter

CO ($260.85)
Button ($273)
SB ($169.45)
Hero ($311.85)
UTG ($200.35)
MP ($35.95)

Preflop: Hero is BB with J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img].
1 fold, MP calls $2, 2 folds, SB raises to $10, Hero calls $8, MP folds.

Flop: ($22) T[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 2[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $16, Hero calls $16.

Turn: ($54) T[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)
SB bets $20, Hero ????

Opponent's preflop raise did not worry me - I knew JJ was best before the flop. Villian was 80 VPIP and chases for large bets, out of position.

On the flop I did not want an outdraw, is the best play to push and pray? What is the standard play versus a tighter opponent, one who understands pot odds (yet still assuming JJ is best before the flop)?

I don't think villains vpip has anything to do with JJ being the best hand preflop or not. (As long as it is higher than 4% that is )

If you know your hand is best preflop, why don't you reraise and play a big pot in position here? Given no raise preflop, you absolutely must raise the flop.

i don't see any chasing here. I only see someone calling off his stack.

River: ($483.30) 2[img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] (2 players, 1 all-in)

Final Pot: $483.30

Results in white below:
SB has 3c 3d (two pair, tens and threes).
Hero has Jh Jd (two pair, jacks and tens).
Outcome: Hero wins $483.30.

I don't know what I was thinking

I guess I had an aversion to "gamble" - this player would put it in with the worst on several occassions. I wanted to wait for something "safe" to push on and waited too long

Is pushing on the flop really the best play? What about preflop? At best I put the guy on two overcards.
