Re: Don\'t slowplay A\'s
You really should bet the flop because you don't know where the raise will come from.
Once you get 3-bet I like waiting until the turn to check-raise. This is because bottom 2 is a weakish hand and knowing there is only 1 bad card gives you better equity. 3-betting the river would suck. Krishan |

Re: Don\'t slowplay A\'s
The check raise wasn't intentional. Yes, I had two pair, but they were weak. When it came back to me as a HU situation, I put him on either a pair of Jacks with a good kicker or the flush draw. That's when I decided to raise, but if there would have been 4 of us left for the turn, I would have just called the 1 bet on the flop. The way the turn went, I felt better about my two pair and was ready to cap here if it came to it.
Also, I don't usually check raise on the flop, but I'll definitely keep in mind the pfr situation if it's a play I want to use. Thanks. |

Re: Don\'t slowplay A\'s
This is terrible strategy.
Two-pair hands are usually extremely vulnerable to all sorts of draws. You want to play them fast and get your money in the middle while you are ahead. Check-calling this flop would have been a clear error. |
