Default Is this correct?

Do I go all in here having less than 10x bb? Should I have waited for a better hand since MP 1 was showing strength or should I have just called? I should also mention that MP 1 had just lost a huge chunk of his stack in the previous hand. Went from 11k to 3k.

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (9 handed) converter

MP2 (t2800)
Hero (t3490)

SB (t5752)
BB (t16809)
UTG (t17181)
UTG+1 (t6269)
MP1 (t3417)

Preflop: Hero is MP3 with K[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].

Is this a joke??

Obvious muck to me...let me check again sometimes I post without reading thoroughly and look silly...yup obvious muck. Can we finally put the "10BB rule" to bed or at least refine it as it seems many posters believe that once you dip to 10xBB you should push anything that looks playable in any position regardless of any action taken before your hand.

I may go all in if its folded to me, but I won't come over top of a 4XBB raise when I have 9BB's left.

Wow great aviator, I bet it doesn't last long though. Stalking Jennicide? Why?

OK to the original post. Like was said by someone else I don't think it is horrible if you are first in. Good shot at stealing the blind and if called your cards have an ok shot at being live.

I muck this given the prior action. You could be easily dominated hereand are (hopefully) a coin flip; even if MP 1 is a little tilty. Pick a spot where you are first in (and LP) if you are gonna push with a hand like this. Or better yet, give it a couple of orbits, get your AA and call the UTG knucklehead who is pushing with K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]J [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

to summarize: 10xbb rule applies if...

1) you have a decent hand (KJ qualifies)

and

2) you are first in the pot

and

3) you are preferably in late position (unless desperate)

you met one of three criteria. facing the raise, this is an easy bye bye.

i'm too new here to be posting advice, but this seems like a really easy fold to me. the 10bb rule should apply more when you are opening or raising limpers not re-raising a raise. your stack isn't that bad at this spot and its definitely not bad enough where it warrants you putting your chips in the middle. pay attention to the action before you before considering moves like this.

Its not that bad huh???

Really what range of hands would you put an UTG raiser on that would make this even close??

Wait I got to hear this......should be fairly entertaining.
