Default Party 2/4: 99 in MP2

MP1 in this hand was loose passive pre-flop and passive post-flop. The Button is tight passive preflop and aggressive post-flop.

Good flop bet? Easy fold on the turn?

Once the button just called the flop bet I put him on over cards. Probably AK. So even if the loose passive was bluffing the straight I was probably cooked anyway. How did I do?

This looks fine to me. On some rare occasions, I suppose, the passive MP1 will be making one of his rare bluffs or semi-bluffs on the scare card, and Button, who was waiting to pop the turn with his QQ, will now lay his hand down instead when you raise the turn.

But far more often against these opponents you'll be behind both of them and will be drawing to 0-2 outs and will not be able to win without showing down.

So I like the turn fold. And I like the flop bet too.

Oops. Make that 0 to 3.3 outs. (I do think there's a decent chance any 2 will give you a 3-way chop.)

But that's still not enough. Anyway, on the turn I think chances are MP1 is optimistically trying out the top pair he just hit, and Button is most likely preparing to raise with his own top pair. (Your read of the flop action seems good to me.)

Thanks for the comments.

MP1 shows (A [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 6 [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img])
Button shows (A [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], K [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img])

Your read of the flop action was good as well. Thanks again.
