Default 3 handed trips

Paradise 10/20 4 handed

pre-flop and river play themselves, wondering about call-reraise on flop and lead-call on turn.

I'm on the button with Q[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

UTG (seemingly tight unknown) limps, CO (decent, bit loose) calls, SB folds, I check.

*** FLOP *** 5[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 5[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 2[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]

I check, UTG checks, CO bets, I call, SB raises, CO calls, I 3-bet, SB caps, we both call.

At this point I have CO on a draw and SB thinking he has the best hand.

*** TURN *** 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img]

I bet, UTG raises, we both call.

*** RIVER *** 4[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

I bet, UTG raises, CO folds and we cap between us.

raise the flop?
3-bet the turn?

Thanks

I am completely confused!

Are you button or BB? Who is doing all this betting?

Anyway I think you need to put more money in on the turn. As for the flop, well, I can't tell who is acting when so I don't know. Looks like you called and raised in the same betting round which screams "monster" and goes against stripsqueez's golden rule; not sure I like it either.

Guy.

Sorry, I'm the BB. I played it bad but at least I didn't play from the button with Q5o

Anyway I agree with you and strip but the greedy mist descended when given the chance to 3-bet.

Isn't the one advantage of giving my hand away, that I can safely slow down when told its in trouble? or should I 3-bet the turn anyway?

Heh, you read my mind. I was wondering that. I think I agree that when you check-call-threebet, you announce you have at least trips, so if someone wants to raise you again you might want to slow down.

But if I were you I'd listen to your own instincts rather than mine.

Guy.

Thanks

My flop 3-bet bad as it announces trips.

His turn raise announces at least trips. I'm still unsure about 3-betting this with Q kicker. Much easier if I hadn't misplayed the flop.

We cap the river he had 22
