Default Checking turn too weak-tight?

Party Poker 0.50/1 Hold'em (9 handed)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img], 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img].
UTG folds, UTG+1 folds, MP1 calls, MP2 folds, MP3 folds, CO folds, Button folds, <font color="CC3333">Hero raises</font>, BB calls, MP1 calls.

Flop: (6 SB) 8[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(3 players)</font>
<font color="CC3333">Hero bets</font>, BB folds, MP1 calls.

Turn: (4 BB) A[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] <font color="blue">(2 players)</font>

Was backing off on the turn too weak-tight? Seems I unnecessarily gave him credit for a K. Should I keep pushing it?
