As I said, it is a beginner's article, but there are some beginners lurking out here.

calling a raise? Bleh i'd say the biggest error would be calling down after turn raises in small pots.

Maybe even in medium sized pots.

I dont preach weaktight, But when a guy raises the turn in 6max... You're hand better be decent or you have a good read on him to continue.

No, I think the pf error is "bigger" because it comes up more often, and dramatically affects the chances of winning the hand.

But I agree, calling that turn raise is often pretty bad too, at least at lower limits.

Well depends what they call with i guess, Calling with 22 sure.

Calling with KJo and stuff? Not a huge problem.

remember that the more they put in PF and call with, the more often they call turn raises.

thus, the former sin causes the latter to occur more often.

that said, you're both right, they are both mistakes, but I think that we have to concede that the more often players see flops the more often they reach the turn to mess up there...

For those who haven't read it, Hilger is not saying the mistake is calling rather than folding, but calling rather than reraising.

I think I sort of think the opposite. I'd rather cold call with a small or medium pair than with unsuited big cards.

I'd rather cc with KJo. The risk of domination with that hand isn't so bad shorthanded, depending of course on who the raiser is. The 22 hand is almost impossible to play postflop absent flopping a set, and you're just not going to get the odds for that in a 2-3 handed pot.
