Folds to button. Button calls. I raise. BB calls. Button calls.

Flop: Kh Tc 9h (I have no hearts)

I bet. BB calls. Button folds.

Turn: 9s

I bet. BB calls.

River: Qh

I check. BB bets. I....

Fold. If he's loose passive, I doubt we induced a bluff here and I don't think we're going to see many hands we beat.

First off, I don't raise this preflop. What's the point?

Flop and turn are fine.

On the river I hope you're trying to decide between raising and calling, and that it's not a tough decision. What did you think was going to happen when you checked? Therefore, the only reason to check was to induce a bluff, and if you raise a bluff will fold but a better hand will 3-bet, so the only choice is to call.

You SHOULD have bet/folded this river (man, I can't believe I'm hearing myself saying that).

When do you typically bet/fold rivers instead of check/calling?

Out of position this is not a good preflop raise.

Not even for value against loose players?

Unless you think you'll be able to fold out BB a high percentage of the time I'd be hesitant to raise it here. You describe your opponents as loose-passive; I'd prefer to just call preflop and keep the pot small to make a steal on the flop easier.

I only check/call if theres an aggro opponent behind me capable of bluff raising...check/calling just sucks against loose/passives

In your hand, check/calling is the worst possible play imo. Personally, I hate bet/folding in this situation as well. I check with the intention of folding to a bet because: A) you hardly have a hand, B) the river completed every draw, AND put another overcard on the board.

Yeah, I check-called, but in retrospect, I think check-folding is the best move. I mean, what am I beating on this river?
